Washington Gardens SDA – Where Service is Our Mission
Thursday, July 24, 2025, was an impactful day at the Washington Gardens SDA Church as more than 150 adults and over 80 children and youth converged on the church grounds which was organized for action and service. The Occasion was a Back to School, Health and Community Impact programme which was spearheaded by the Education Department and ably supported by several other departments of the church.
Former EJC President Meremoth Weir Passes
The Administration of the Seventh-day Day Adventist Church in East Jamaica Conference mourns the passing of Pastor Meremoth Epaphras Weir, former president and executive secretary of East Jamaica Conference and executive secretary of West Indies Union, who passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025 leaving behind his beloved wife Beatrice, children Mercedes Weir, Marilyn Weir-Smythe (Wyatt Smythe), and Marchelle Rachel. He was 95 years old.

Adventist student ranked among the highest national PEP achievers in spite of ‘missing out’ on Saturday classes
Jahier Jerome Johnson, a member of the Florence Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church, brought insatiable joy and oceans of tears to his mother, Sandaree Dacres, his grandmother, Norma Small, and his extended family, as well as his school and church communities. This joy comes in the wake of his outstanding performance on the 2025 Primary Exit Profile, a national secondary school placement test in Jamaica.
