“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” ― Mahatma Gandhi

Greetings My Fellow Believers, blessings upon you and family,
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be.

Ingathering Campaign
The Seventh-day Adventist Church all around the world, including the East Jamaica Conference, annually embarks on an outreach, called the Ingathering Campaign, to gather funds toward education, community services, and health ministries. Every member, including children, is expected to vigorously participate.

“The Lord has placed His goods in the hands of unbelievers as well as believers; all may return to Him His own for the doing of the work that must be done for a fallen world. As long as we are in this world, as long as the Spirit of God strives with the children of men, so long are we to receive favors as well as to impart them. We are to give to the world the light of truth, as revealed in the Scriptures; and we are to receive from the world that which God moves upon them to give in behalf of His cause.”—EllenWhite,ChristianService 168.2

Thanks to Participants
The EJC is very grateful for its Pastors, Elders, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Directors, and members in general, who over the years have carefully planned and wisely executed the ingathering campaign bringing in thousands of dollars to help do the mission of care in our communities. Likewise, we thank all our donating participants. Together let us do it again.

Disaster Preparedness
We are in the hurricane season and as good stewards we must be prepared for hurricanes and other means of disasters. I call upon all churches and institutions to effect your disaster preparedness committee. Check the ODPEM website for usable current information.
Happy Sabbath! Be a blessing to someone today as we put“Mission First!”
