New Changes to Pastoral Assignment in EJC

New changes to the pastoral arrangement in East Jamaica Conference were made at the start of the year subsequent to the recommendation that was made by president of the Conference, Pastor Meric Dale Walker at the Executive Committee meeting held on December 5, 2023.

New changes to the pastoral arrangement in East Jamaica Conference were made at the start of the year after the recommendation that was made by the president of the Conference, Pastor Meric Dale Walker at the Executive Committee meeting held on December 5, 2023. The recommendation was subsequently voted on and accepted. The changes took effect on January 1, 2024, and became necessary due to the migration of  Pastor Lambert Hamilton who accepted a call from another field.

 

The changes are as follows:-

Pastor  Scheldon Schooler  is now assigned as the pastor of the Shortwood District of Churches and replaces Pastor Lambert Hamilton who accepted a call from another field.  

The district is comprised of the Shortwood and Jacks Hill churches and the Barbican Company. Pastor Schooler will also continue to serve as the director for the Community Services Department  where he has responsibility for Possibilities Ministries  and Senior Citizens across the Conference. Schooler previously served as the pastor of the Macedonia District of Churches.

The vacancy created by the departure of Pastor Schooler from the Macedonia district of churches has been filled by Pastor Romaine Richardson who just returned from study leave.  Pastor Richardson is a seasoned minister of the Gospel and previously served as pastor and zone 4 leader of the Morant Bay district of Churches in St. Thomas prior to his study leave.    The Macedonia, Greenwich Town and Omara Road SDA Churches are the churches  in this district.

The New Haven District of Churches  has been assigned a new district   pastor in the person of Pastor Sebert Hamilton who previously served as district pastor of the Heroes Circle district of churches. Hamilton, who is a senior pastor in the East Jamaica Conference, will bring his many years of experience in pastoral leadership  to bear  in this district which is comprised of the New Haven and Riverton Meadows SDA Churches.

Pastor Sebert Hamilton’s departure from the Heroes Circle District of Churches created the vacancy for  Pastor Oshain Stewart to be assigned as district pastor of the Heroes Circle District of churches which includes the Heroes Circle, Ephesus, and Cross Roads SDA Church. That move created a vacancy at the Golden District of Churches where Stewart previously served as district pastor.

The vacancy created by the departure of Pastor Oshain Stewart  from the the Golden Spring District was filled by Pastor  Mickel Allen who previously served as associate pastor with Pastor Scheldon Schooler  in the Macedonia district of churches. The churches he will lead  in this district includes the Golden Spring, Mount James, Clark’s Hill, Stony Hill, River View and Brandon Hill SDA Church.

Pastor Waldon Wright was assigned as the pastor of the newly formed Avondale Company which was borne out of the Arnette Gardens tent Campaign  late last year. Pastor Wright has been given full responsibility  for  oversight and growth of the company which will fall under the Heroes Circle District
