The day commenced just like any other, basking in the warmth of a sunny Tuesday. The usual hustle and bustle of students and workers filled the streets as they embarked on their journeys to school and work. However, little did they know that their ordinary routine was about to be profoundly disrupted. "Hanif is missing"

In the midst of uncertainty and fear, the power of prayer became a beacon of hope for Hanif Grey, an active youth leader in the East Jamaica Conference, and his loved ones. The Adventist community rallied together in a display of unity and faith.

Yorkalli Walters created a compelling graphic that spread like wildfire across social media, prompting hundreds of young people to unite in support of Hanif. Their WhatsApp statuses were adorned with his image, a visual testament to their unwavering solidarity.

As evening approached, a prayer meeting via Zoom was convened, led by senior youth leader Karnette Batchelor Evering. The virtual gathering quickly reached its maximum capacity, with 500 individuals joining in prayer, and countless others attempting to do the same.

Among the fervent prayers, one stood out — that of Shericka Campbell. With tears streaming down her face and a voice filled with desperation, she beseeched God to let His will be done and to bring Hanif safely home. It was a prayer that resonated with the hearts of all those in attendance.

And then, in a moment that felt nothing short of divine intervention, a message appeared in the chat: "He is found." To the astonishment and joy of everyone present, Hanif had been located.

The sequence of events unfolded rapidly: Hanif had been at a beach in Port Royal, he sent a text message requesting assistance to his fiancé. A dedicated group of over 20 family and friends including Pastor Joel Jumpp, Youth Ministries Director of EJC quickly assembled and coordinated their efforts at the local police station in Port Royal. They discovered his car at a beach entrance and, with unwavering determination, located Hanif lying unconscious on the shore.

Swift action led to his immediate transport to the Kingston public hospital for the necessary treatment.

This story serves as a powerful reminder of the profound impact of prayer and the unwavering faith that can move mountains. In the darkest of moments, when all hope seemed lost, a community came together, and through their collective prayers, they witnessed the miraculous return of Hanif Grey. To God be the glory for the great thing He has done.
