On Sunday, August 24th, the Padmore SDA Church hosted its first Fundraiser Dinner and Community Awards, under the theme “An Evening of Purpose.” The event was a resounding success, bringing together members and friends in a spirit of fellowship, generosity, and celebration.
Guests enjoyed a beautifully prepared dinner that catered to all dietary needs from hearty meat dishes to vegan options, ensuring that everyone was well served. The evening’s entertainment added inspiration and joy, uplifting hearts and setting the tone for a memorable occasion.

A highlight of the night was the presentation of 10 community awards honoring individuals who have shown exceptional service and dedication to the upliftment of both church and community life. From local shopkeepers and taxi operators to church members who continue to give selflessly of their time, resources, and talents, each awardee was recognized for their invaluable contribution.
The initiative, led by the Community Services Department, was more than an evening of fine dining and recognition, it was a vital effort to raise funds in support of outreach programs such as elderly care, youth support, and food drives for those in need. Supporters from both within and beyond the community, including members of other denominations, joined in the cause. Special thanks also go to Benjamin Manufacturing, whose generous donation provided thoughtful tokens for our guests.
