Laughter filled the air and smiles stretched wide across the grounds of the Whithorn Seventh-day Adventist Church as the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Zone 4 Youth Federation hosted a memorable Children’s Treat on Sunday, February 1, 2026, that brought joy, fellowship, and hope to the hearts of young ones and their families.
For the team of 37 youth and volunteers who travelled from St. Thomas to Westmoreland, the long journey was more than a drive across parishes—it was a mission rooted in love and service. Their arrival transformed the churchyard into a lively space of colour, energy, and excitement, reminding the community that genuine ministry is felt most deeply through presence and action.
“We wanted the children to feel special—to know that they are loved and valued,” shared the Zone 4 Youth Federation President, Jonae Remekie-Coward. “Every mile was worth it when we saw their smiles.”

A Day Filled With Wonder
Children of all ages eagerly immersed themselves in a variety of fun-filled activities designed to spark excitement and imagination. Trampolines sent children bouncing with delight as laughter echoed across the grounds, while the bouncy house quickly became a favourite gathering spot for nonstop fun. Target throw games encouraged friendly competition, drawing cheers from onlookers, and a virtual reality experience opened doors to a digital world many children were experiencing for the very first time.
“I’ve never tried virtual reality before—it felt like I was in another world!” said 12-year-old Jaden, beaming with excitement.

Sharing Food, Sharing Love
Alongside the games and activities, volunteers ensured that every child was well cared for with warm, satisfying meals served throughout the day. The menu included neatly prepared sandwiches, juicy burgers and hot dogs, crispy fries, and hearty soup—simple comforts that added to the joy of the occasion.
Parents looked on appreciatively as their children enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere, grateful for a day that offered more than entertainment—it offered genuine care.

Gifts That Last Beyond the Day
The Children’s Treat extended beyond fun and food. Care packages, clothing, and small gifts were distributed to children, ensuring that the joy of the day would linger even after the activities ended. These gestures spoke volumes, reinforcing the Federation’s commitment to nurturing both hearts and lives.
